Notes[]

  • The 1954 debut commercial of the Pitcher Man did not have a copyright notice.
  • In the 1970s, the Pitcher Man would be renamed to the "Kool-Aid Man", given arms and legs, and made into a character who likes to break walls and shout "Oh yeah!" - this iteration of the character is still copyrighted unless that 1974 commercial resurfaces with no notice. However the Pitcher Man was first seen with arms and legs in print advertisements from the 50s lacking a notice, so that iteration is also public domain.

Kool-Aid and the Kool-Aid Man are still trademarked, so the Pitcher Man can only be used within a story and not to market other brands.
