Respected by public and lawmen alike, Purple Rider rode the "Great Wide West" aiding those who needed help and bringing criminals and desperados to justice. His rallying cry was, "Scramble, Pard. Tally Ho-o-o-o!" He was a skilled gunfighter (equally good with both hands), brawler, and rider.

He briefly teamed up with the Purple Kid.

Although non-powered, he was extremely fit and strong for a man of his build.
