Rod Rian of the Sky Police is a police officer in the year 2500. His friend and fellow officer is "Pilotar" Andres of the Moon Squadron.
The pair are assigned a mission by Earth Commander Elmus. Rod and Andres are sent to investigate a case of an attack and piracy of a transport vessel carrying ore from the Moon. During their journey, the Sky Patrol ship is attacked, and the officers are knocked unconscious.
Rod and Taro flying
They are taken captive by Mephisian devil-men from the planet, Mephistos. Mephis sends Rod to be killed by a creature named Carno. Rod manages to escape the clutches of Caro when the creature is killed by a gunshot from an unseen shooter. Afterward, Rod is nearly killed by a giant Mephesian guard. A woman shoots the guard. The woman explains her name is Karin, and that she is the granddaughter of Elmus. When Rod is recaptured, Mephis sends him to the Island of the Living Dead.
Powers and Abilities[]
Rod is excellent at hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship with a pistol, and swordsmanship. He can also fly aided by a set of artificial wings attached to his back.

- Rod Rian is another character who first appeared in the British magazine Wags before being published in the United States. According to the Grand Comics Database, his debut took place in Wags #1. Like Stuart Taylor, Rod Rian was also published in Brazil as early as 1937, a fact documented on the website Guia dos Quadrinhos. Issues featuring Rian can be identified by their cover dates on the comic book.
