Origin[]

Scratch is known to be the only surviving prehistoric human on modern-day Earth. He had grown up in the fictional Stone Age, where humans and dinosaurs co-existed. Scratch lived happily with his parents and his pet dinosaur named Dimples. In his childhood, Scratch spent time with Dimples befriended other prehistoric animals, climbed tall trees in the jungle, and searched for giant eggs.

As an adult, Scratch had fallen asleep for thousands of years. It wasn't until 1945 that he unintentionally woke up from the Trinity atomic explosion. The explosion blew Scratch "right out of the past and into the present." It wasn't long before he befriended Squeak the puppet and Colonel Bleep the spaceman and was granted a space deputy ever since. While Scratch may be rather dim-witted, he does make up for his great strength and his spiked wooden club.

Since Scratch and Squeak were granted space deputies, they are often there to accompany Bleep on many wonderful adventures. In most occasions, Scratch is usually the one to easily save the day, especially when defeating villains. This is so because Scratch has greater strength and can take quicker action than Bleep and Squeak combined. However, Bleep may be the one to save if Scratch and Squeak get captured by a certain villain or two.

When not fighting, Scratch is usually in training to pilot the space scooter, gardening, carving a new wooden club, or spending time with Squeak. While Scratch is more patient and steady, Squeak is more cocky and impulsive. Therefore, Scratch is more likely to get the job well done, while Squeak clumsily fails a certain task without Scratch and Bleep's help. Luckily, Squeak is quick to learn from his mistakes and change for the better.

Powers and Abilities[]

Scratch's greatest ability is his supernatural strength. With it, the caveman can punch targets easily, bend and mold metal like putty, move anything heavy with his might, and throw anything from his hands in just a few seconds. While he usually takes quick action with just his muscles, Scratch is often seen carrying his wooden club, which may be used as a baseball bat or a missile.

  • Scratch's design is similar to those of Fred Flintstone and Captain Caveman.
  • Scratch is the only leading character in the series to have a proper origin story.
  • Scratch had made one cameo appearance in The Venture Bros episode, Hate Floats.
  • In the series, Scratch's skin is pure white and his tunic is white with black spots outlined with yellow. In some home video covers, Scratch is given a more natural skin tone and his tunic may be completely yellow with just black spots.
