The Spirit of Death is a dreaded visitor who appears to all mortals at the end of their lives.
She was hovering over the bed of Santa Claus when the Council of Immortals arrived to bestow upon him the Mantle of Immortality. She motioned with an angry gesture, but left the house and never returned.
