Squeaky, also spelled Squeeky, is a semi-anthropomorphic squirrel who first appeared in Mr Slicker and the Egg Robbers, where he plays the role of Mickey's mute sidekick. A group of similar squirrels appeared in the Mr Slicker and the Egg Robbers strip originally released on October the 24th, 1930. It is unclear if Squeaky was intended to have been one of those squirrels or not. His first definitive appearance was in the November the 20th, 1930 strip, where he was just referred to as "Squirrel". He was first called "Squeeky" two strips later. The more common spelling of his name, "Squeaky", would be used in the strip following the one in which he was called "Squeeky" and would continue to be used throughout Mr Slicker and the Egg

Squeaky lives in a tree not too far away from the home of Marcus Mouse. In 1930, Mickey Mouse, who had just been accused of stealing eggs from Marcus, enlisted his help in catching the real egg robbers. Squeaky stuck with Mickey and assisted him wholeheartedly. It is unknown what became of him, as he wasn't seen again after Mickey and the egg robbers were arrested by Bill Goat. It is possible that he was one of a group of squirrels who, through their smiles and joyous demeanor, had lifted Mickey's spirits when he was at a low place was and not only contemplating but was actively attempting suicide.
