The Female of the Species isn't listed as a PD apearence[]
So why is Irma Peterson mentioned? It gives the impresion her status is equally Public Domain?MithrandirOlorin (talk) 17:45, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Irma is equally public domain. Her first appearance was in the first Bulldog Drummond novel, published in 1920. She appeared in 6 novels altogether: The six Drummond novels with Irma Peterson are: Bull-Dog Drummond (1920), The Black Gang (1922), The Third Round (1924), The Final Count (1926), The Female of the Species (1928) and The Return of Bulldog Drummond (1932). I have no idea if those last 4 novels are still under copyright or not but, the first two are pre-1923 making them PD. The only thing the article mentions about her is that she is a "sexy femme fatale mistress" and that aspect of her character would most definitely be PD. I'm not seeing an error here?Cebr1979 (talk) 23:25, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
It's all a moot point, anyhow. Herman Cyril McNeile died in 1937 and British copyright law is life of the author + 70 years, making all his work PD as of January 1, 2008.Cebr1979 (talk) 23:34, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the Info.MithrandirOlorin (talk) 23:32, July 1, 2016 (UTC)
