1923 shorts

With it being 2019, would all the 1923 Felix the Cat shorts (including the iconic "Felix in Hollywood") be considered public domain? LogiTeeka (talk) 20:51, January 12, 2019 (UTC)

Mickey Mouse redlink

Disney will never allow Mickey Mouse to enter the public domain as long as they exist, so a page for him wouldn't be needed. However, there have been arguments over the true copyright status of Mickey over the years.

  • I know and it's the arguments about his true copyright status that make him eligible to have a page here right now! I just haven't done it yet.Cebr1979 (talk) 19:38, February 22, 2019 (UTC)
  • I dunno about that. While Disney wouldn't care for it, I doubt there's much they can really do much to further combat it. If anything, I see a similar situation to what Tarzan, Fu Manchu, and Captain Marvel are in where the company retains the trademarks while the material itself becomes public domain.
