Eclipse comics own Hillman properties or not?[]
In 1986, Eclipse Comics, having acquired rights to some Hillman characters, began publishing a new Airboy comic with the Heap as a supporting character.Eclipse Comics went bankrupt and ceased operations in the 1990s. Image Comics purchased the Eclipse assets, including the Heap.
- The copyright records say that pretty much all Hillman titles lapsed into public domain before 1986. If Eclipse bought anything, their acquisition was worthless. And I will point out that AC Comics and Moonstone Books published comics using Hillman characters with no legal consequences. --Strannik01 18:36, October 23, 2011 (UTC)
