Origin[]
Sheik Tamah is a "native bandit chieftain" who faces off with the French Foreign Legion in attacking their fort. The French soldiers lose radio contact, as their aerial was damaged in an attack. Gypsy Johnson is captured in an attempt to sneak into Tamah's camp and get a distress message through.
Tamah has Gypsy held prisoner to be tortured. Gypsy manages to overcome his guard and escape before the torture begins. Stealing a horse, he reaches the garrison at Cordova. He informs the Legion and returns in a two-seater plane to attack the bandits. Parachuting from the plane and letting the pilot go to the aid of the French soldiers, Gypsy lands on Sheik Tamah and overcomes him. Tamah is delivered to the Legion officials alive and Gypsy is credited with saving the besieged fort.
