Origin[]
Tigger is a stuffed tiger who moved into the Hundred Acre Woods. He initially shows up at Winnie-the-Pooh's house at night. The chapter centers on the characters' search for food for the picky Tigger, despite his claims to enjoy "everything". Tigger learns that his favorite food is malt extract when Kanga feeds it to her infant child, Roo, calling it "strengthening medicine."
Tigger eventually comes to live with Kanga and Roo in their Hundred Acre Wood home near the Sandy Pit. He grows close to Roo, and Kanga shows him the affection of a mother. Tigger regularly engages in spirited conversation with Rabbit, Eeyore, and Piglet, among other characters. All the animals are portrayed to be buddies, even if Piglet, Eeyore, and Rabbit express some frustration with his antics. Tigger's enthusiasm for food and bouncing make him a notable addition to the story’s cast of characters.
