Tony "Scarface" Camonte or Guarino is a fictional gangster appearing in the 1930 novel Scarface. He was heavily based on the gangster Al Capone aka "Scarface". In the novel, he performs a hit on mob leader Al Springola, moves in to take over the illegal alcohol business in an unnamed city during the Prohibition Era, and he becomes the most powerful gang leader in the city, performing a series of daring killings. He is eventually bertrayed to the Police by his love interest and ultimately shot dead by his brother, the chief of Police, who fails to recognize him due to the family believing him to have died in World War I.

Notes[]
- The novel is public domain in both Europe and the US because the copyright wasn't renewed and the author died more than 70 years ago.
- The 1932 and 1983 films of the same name were based on the novel, which was in turn based on the real life gangster Al Capone. The 1932 film will become public domain in 2028.
- The gangster Al Capone reportedly loved the film adaptation.
