Origin[]

Toucan Sam is an anthropomorphic toucan with vibrant, multi-colored feathers that reflect the cereal's variety of colors of Kellogg's Froot Loops cereal. He is shown to be rather obsessed with the cereal’s delicious smell and has a tendency to speak in Pig Latin, referring to the cereal by the name "Ootfray Oopslays".

Through out the commercials, Sam is shown teaching his two nephews about delicious Froot Loops in order to educate them.

Notes[]

  • The earliest TV Kellogg's Froot Loops commercials were released without copyright notices.
  • Kellogg's Froot Lopps and Toucan Sam are still trademarked by the Kellogg's Company, so the character’s name can only be used within the interior of a story, not to promote a brand.
