The Viking is actually the leader of a disguised German Q-boat crew, known to his men as Herr Viking. Posing as a Norwegian-style Viking ship with just a handful of sailors, he hides modern engines, torpedoes, and a full complement of German soldiers to ambush Allied ships. Using the ruse, he sinks vessels and ensures no survivors remain, making it appear as if U-boats are responsible. Ultimately, his scheme is foiled when the Iron Ace escapes capture and destroys the Viking ship.
