A sly and crafty snake oil salesman with a reputation for peddling phony products, Waldo P. Wigglesworth never stops trying to seize a chance to profit. Along with his companions Hoppity Hooper and Fillmore, he manages to stay out of trouble thanks to his quick-witted thinking - often brought on by a series of sporadic convulsions.
Though Waldo is a softie at heart, he is not above using deceit to get himself out of trouble. He once got engaged to Susan Swivelhips but abandoned her at the alter to avoid being arrested. He also lured Hoppity into his trade by making him believe he was his uncle in order to elude the authorities.
