Origin[]
Whizzer McGee was originally a bellhop in a New York hotel where Phantasmo, later taking the name Phil Anton, stayed after first returning to America after his years of training in Tibet. The hero asked Whizzer to watch his body while he was fighting crime and later after the hotel was destroyed asked the boy to work as his assistant.
The duo then visit the Empire State Building and while there rescue an army officer. Once again, Whizzer watched over Phantasmo's body but it was taking to the morgue by mistake when other believed Phil to have dropped dead. Luckily, Phantasmo returns to his body just in time much to the shock of the coroner.
Whizzer's Uncle Ben and Aunt Martha had a farm located in Hudson Valley which Phantasmo and Whizzer visit to help flood victims in the area including the boy's mother and sister who were visiting the farm. Phantasmo discovered the flood was caused by an airplane bombing the dam at the nearby reservoir as part of a saboteur plot. After stopping the plot and dealing with the flood waters, Phil joins the McGee family on their plane trip home.
Later the pair flew out to Los Angeles to see Whizzer's cousin Jerry and while there Phantasmo discovered an underground sea cavern underneath Jerry's cliff-side manor where unbeknownst to Jerry an army of soldier from an unnamed Asian empire (most likely Japan but not named in the story) was unloading submarine and assembling aircraft & tanks for an attack. After interrogating Captain Oaku, Phantasmo destroyed their war machines and then saved Whizzer and Jerry from the crumbling cliff-side by taking the manor and picking it up a placing it safely elsewhere.
